trait.gif (78 octets)It is well-known for its colourful market, the largest in the East Var, and for its high quality vineyards.Tree-lined rivers water the area which is renowned for its Meditarranean forest and deep red porphyritic rocks, conducive to canoeing, riding, climbing and rambling.

Photographers and botanists appreciate the silence of the maquis with its varied flora and fauna. From hill-top hamlets to fishing villages, from the Gorges du Verdon to the beaches of St Tropez, there are plenty of beauty spots and resorts within easy reach of Le Muy, and of course one can also go further afield, by road or by train, to Nice, Monaco and - why not ? - Italy.
